Celebration of the Day of the National Flag of Ukraine

On the occasion of the Day of the National Flag of Ukraine was celebrated on August 23 in the KPI named after. Igor Sikorsky hosted a ceremony of laying flowers at the monument to Kyiv polytechnics who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of Ukraine. The staff of the University, teachers and cadets of the Institute of Special Communication and Information Protection of the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” (Igor Sikorsky Institute of KPI) took part in it.

On the Day of the National Flag of Ukraine participants of the ceremony congratulated the rector of KPI them. Igor Sikorsky Academician of NAS of Ukraine Mykhailo Zgurovsky. “I want to express my confidence that Ukraine will uphold its will and independence thanks to a new generation of patriots, to which the cadets and officers of the Institute of Special Communications belong to,” he emphasized. – Today, along with us, lays flowers with one of them – cadet of your institute Alona Pavlova, daughter of KPI lecturer Colonel Igor Pavlov, who gave his life for Ukraine and whose name is engraved on this monument. In total, in the battles for our independence, fourteen Kiev polytechnics were killed … Good luck to all of us in fulfilling our aspirations, good and happiness for every citizen of Ukraine! ”.

By the way, as reported by the head of the Institute of KPI them. Igor Sikorsky Colonel Alexander Puchkov, all officers who participated in the festivities, are involved in hostilities in eastern Ukraine.
